Be Baptised

Being Born Again changes everything. It changes our priorities; it changes our motives. It changes our purpose. It changes our eternal destination and it changes the way we think and act. When the Eunuch in Acts 8 heard the message of Jesus Christ, his first response after accepting the message was the desire to be baptised in water. So they found some water and Philip baptised the eunuch immediately.
As a Born Again Christian, being baptised is a way of declaring to the world that you are now a follower of Jesus Christ. Being baptised does not ensure you are going to heaven but it is a natural response to the work God has done in your life. It declares to the entire world that Jesus Christ is your Lord. That you have done with half-hearted, mediocre living and have made the decision to be obedient to Jesus Christ from here on in.
Baptism in itself is not required for salvation but because of the change that being born again brings into our life, being baptised is a natural response to the goodness of God’s grace. It’s a way of declaring that we are His and it is our intention to live for Him fro the rest of our life.
As a Church, one of our responsibilities is to encourage new believers to take this step of faith and be water baptised and to continue to pray for them. Perhaps you have never taken this step. Maybe you are not sure if you will be able to follow through on the commitment. If it is your desire to serve the Lord, why not take this step today, allow the Holy Spirit to help you and determine to follow Him the rest of your life.
